Hello...my name is Nancy Hall. † My husband Ron and I live in Southern Indiana, where we dote on our loving herd of great danes. In the 50+ years that I have enjoyed the company of dogs, nearly half of those years have been devoted to great danes...many years ago, we were on a fishing trip and we stopped for bait at this little country store, and there before us, sat a beautiful black great dane in the back of a pick up truck waiting patiently for his human to return. Ron smiled while remembering a childhood friend who had one as he mentioned in passing; "Some day I'd like to have a great dane of my own." This breed wasn't often seen in our neck of the woods and until that moment, it never entered my mind to have one since I had always been involved with Belgian and German Sheperds; those were my parent's breed of choice; my father use to train them in the army, so we spent a great deal of time traveling all over Europe...but one look into those sensitive, velvet brown great dane eyes and I was totally in love...now Ron is very careful what he wishes for since it became my mission in life to find him his dream dog...only trouble is, "his" dog became "my" dog in rapid succession. Big Jake was his name and Lord how I loved him...he pioneered the passion I now have for them...our pets past & present:
♥Jake (merle) ♥ Cigale (fawn) ♥ Benny (white) ♥ Sambino (black)

† It's true what they say; "Dog's never lie about love." If you've ever shared your life with a great dane then you know that you could never ask for a better friend...
† We are so very lucky to be on the recieving end of such unconditional love!
† After years of research on every aspect of the great dane, I began my search for the perfect harlequin. That's when I found my dream girl. My first show baby and what would become my foundation bitch and Liége's kennel was born. Her name is lovingly known as Liége's Gamine de Merde, aka Gamine, and she is extrordinary...her temperament leaves nothing to be desired, her love for people, family and especially children is beyond reproach...she is strong and healthy and beautiful and obedient and just wonderful...I have taken her to visit my grandchildren's schools, to nursing homes, even to Louisville to visit Ms Toni Pratt of Meistersinger Kennels, where she was given a glowing evaluation.
Because of some personal health issues I had to conquer, our show plans were delayed by a few years; but Michael Chiles has been handling her for me now and she is AKC pointed but not finished yet. I really wanted a puppy from her, so in 2008, at the age of 4, I decided to put her show career on hold and breed her to INT/AM CH Shebang's Natural Selection CGC, aka Darwin, who is owned by Charity Cron of Shebang Danes and we were blessed with an exceptional litter. Now Gamine is ready to get back in the ring, looking better then ever and I hope to finish her in 2009. Along with 3 of her children who are looking very hopeful in their own show careers...You'll learn more about where they are on their own pages within this site...
† Thank you for taking an interest in my Great Danes!
